At 8:00 PM Mountain time tomorrow the Edmonton Oilers will be playing the Vancouver Canucks for the first time this post season. The series promises to be a good one, even if it doesn't live up to all of the hype surrounding it.

Today was the last day of practices (for both teams) before the big day. The Oilers practiced in Edmonton before flying out to Vancouver.

Evander Kane made his return to practice today - after missing out on all the other practices since the last round finished. Naturally, since he was back, the media wanted to talk to him about his thoughts going into the series opening game tomorrow night.

There was several things discussed in his availability - but one thing certainly stood out. He spoke very highly of Canucks defenseman - and Norris Trophy finalist - Quinn Hughes.

Hughes just put up a 92 point season playing 24:41 a night - while playing 82 games. He's a very gifted offensive player, and Kane did more than ackowledge that, "he's a guy who's incredibly mobile...on the offensive blueline. He's a smaller guy, which makes him harder to hit and to find."

"He has a really good shot from the point too, likes to make a lot of those quick plays. Really dynamic player and somebody that we're going to have to be aware of."

Teams never want to underestimate their opponent - or go too far the other way and idolize them.

It's important to be aware of everyone who could be dangerous from the team you are playing against. Hughes is about as dangerous as they come - and someone that the Oilers will have a keen eye on during this series.
