EDMONTON -- Turnover is expected in the offseason.

Even if you're the Edmonton Oilers and make it all the way to Game seven of the Stanley Cup Final, turnover is unavoidable.

Luckily, Jeff Jackson was able to re-sign most of the Oilers' UFA's. Sam Carrick, Warren Foegele and Vincent Desharnais are the only UFA's that sought greener pastures elsewhere.

The prospects are a different story.

Earlier this offseason, the Oilers did not extend Carter Savoie a qualifying offer this summer. Savoie played 107 games for the Bakersfield Condors over the last two seasons. He only collected 33 points in that time.

It appears that Savoie has found a new home in Europe. TPS Liiga has signed Savoie to a one-year contract according to their team website. The team's director Rauli Urama spoke about the reasoning behind the team signing Savoie.

"He has a clear goal to play in the NHL and is now looking for that jump from here to there. A very good player with attacking skills -- knows where he needs to improve and has decided to seek that next step and development here. This is a player with great potential and who stands out in terms of attack."

Let's hope this next step in Savoie's journey prepares him for an NHL debut in the near future.
