If the Oilers need to create more cap space to sign Bouchard and McLeod, who would you trade?
Put your general manager hats on Edmonton Oilers fans. I have posted a poll on my twitter account to see what the fans think should happen.
The Oilers have just enough space right now to sign both Ryan McLeod and Evan Bouchard. If McLeod signs for $2-million and Bouchard for $4-million, they will have less than $1-million left. With McLeod going to arbitration and no contract announced for Bouchard, is the hold-up in negotiations simply a trade to create more cap space?

It makes sense when you look at what Bouchard should be making given his offensive talents. If he wants $6-million a year for six years, maybe that has prompted the Oilers to clear out more salary to accommodate the blue liner.
No matter how you slice it, something needs to give. The Oilers have tough decisions to make before they can hoist the Stanley Cup in the air once again.
