    Goalies

Karel Vejmelka, UTA vs. NSH (44% rostered)

Vejmelka’s been a workhorse and his strong play continues having won four of his past five games. The Utah defense has done a really good job of making his job easier lately and it should be more of the same against the Preds, who are one of the league’s worst offensive teams.

Vejmelka should get the win this game. The Preds are horrendous on the road with only nine wins, and needed overtime to snap a six-game losing streak.

Cam Talbot, DET at FLA (49% rostered)

There are conspiracy theorists out there who believe the Panthers want to drop to a wild card spot to play the Leafs in the first round rather than face the Lightning. However, there should be just as much incentive to finish ahead of the Lightning in the division standings to secure home-ice advantage against a poor road team. Not sure what kind of Panthers team will show up, but Talbot has put in some strong performances lately and the Panthers offense has been a little anemic, failing to score more than three goals in six straight games.

Considering Talbot’s strong play, he should be a good streaming option for saves. The Wings are in playoff contention but their chances are slim, and they’ve generally been good with a 3-1-1 record in their past five. I think this will be a competitive matchup with a chance of an upset.

Charlie Lindgren, WSH vs. CAR (44% rostered)

This may feel like a tempting matchup but I’d hit pause and re-consider. The Caps have not been good in net, they’ve lost six of their past eight, and virtually have nothing to play for with the Metro all but locked up and Alex Ovechkin complete his chase for the record.

The Canes are not good on the road (16-19-3) but both teams have really struggled lately. I think the Canes’ goaltending is stronger, though, and will want to end their four-game road trip on a high note. Lindgren might be able to rack up the saves, but I think he’ll also allow a few goals and has a good chance of getting tagged with a loss.

Spencer Knight, CHI at BOS (23% rostered)

The Hawks have lost six of their past seven and provided zero goal support for Knight in their previous game against the Pens. While their offense should fare much better in this game, the Bruins offense has been scoring a lot more over their past three games, averaging five goals per game. The Bruins have won seven of their past eight matches dating back to 2020.

Start Knight with caution even though this looks like a matchup the Hawks could upset on paper. I think Knight can provide saves, but they’ll be underdogs and barring a strong performance from him and some good goal support, the Bruins will likely win.
