On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.
Miro Heiskanen, D, DAL vs. MIN (96% rostered) – FanDuel $5,900
This feels like a better value play than Thomas Harley ($6,100) especially since Heiskanen plays PP1. I think Harley still has more potential to score more points but Heiskanen’s averaging 26:05 per game while Harley is averaging 23:52. The Wild are playing second game of a back-to-back.
Jackson LaCombe, D, ANA vs. PIT (89% rostered) – FanDuel $5,700
LaCombe has zero points so far but it’s a matter of time. He’s the Ducks’ No. 1 option in nearly all situations, including the power play. Defensively, the Pens have not been particularly good and may be without veteran Kris Letang. The Ducks, meanwhile, thanks to a high-scoring 7-6 win against the Sharks, ranked first with 40 shots per game as of Monday evening.
Braden Schneider, D, NYR vs. EDM (17% rostered) – FanDuel $4,300
It’s a contract year for Schneider and I think he’s been pretty good so far. He offers very modest offensive upside – just one assist and six shots through four games – but he can offer a ton of shots and some blocks if you need them. He’s quarterbacking PP2 but any points from Schneider is a bonus.
