On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.
Filip Hronek, D, VAN vs. CGY (37% rostered) – FanDuel $5,400
Hronek and Quinn Hughes form one of the best pairs in the league and Hronek adds some value as the PP2 QB. He’s got 40-point upside with decent shot volume and blocks. This is a good matchup for the Canucks on home ice and hosting the Flames, who played last night in Edmonton.
Travis Sanheim, D, PHI at FLA (18% rostered) – FanDuel $4,900
Sanheim is the Flyers’ top defenseman and generates most of his offense at even strength. I expect the Flyers to be under siege by the Panthers, which is actually good for Sanheim because he blocks a lot of shots. I think his floor is pretty high among value plays due to his role.
Sam Rinzel, D, CHI at BOS (39% rostered) – FanDuel $5,400
A few more games of this and Rinzel won’t be available in fantasy leagues and won’t come cheap in DFS play. He’s the Hawks’ PP1 QB and, after a shaky first period, really solidified his play and finished with over 25 minutes of ice time, nearly seven more than the next highest Hawks defenseman.
Brent Burns, D, COL vs. UTA (30% rostered) – FanDuel $4,500
I thought Burns was surprisingly good in his Avs debut, playing 20:10 and adding three shots and three blocks. His fantasy value has really declined in recent seasons but if the first game was any indication, it seems like his shot volume is returning to its previous levels around 200.
