Maximize your fantasy roster with emerging defensemen such as Zayne Parekh and David Reinbacher, poised for bigger roles and point-scoring opportunities.

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Devon Toews, COL at CGY (48% rostered) – FanDuel $5,600

Should Cale Makar sit out again, look for Toews to continue to quarterback the power play. He played 31:21 against the Avs, a hint that Jared Bednar isn’t exactly looking to take his foot off the gas pedal. The Avs offense has been a little quiet, but Toews is put in a good position to log heavy minutes and score points.

Zayne Parekh, CGY vs. COL (16% rostered) – FanDuel $4,200

With the season winding down, this is Parekh’s audition for more minutes next season. He’s played over 22 minutes in each of his past two games, notching an assist with three blocks and eight shots. Despite a tough matchup, the Flames will likely continue to challenge Parekh with increased minutes to see what he can do. More minutes at even strength and PP1 gives Parekh more opportunity to score points.

David Reinbacher, MTL at PHI (1% rostered) – FanDuel n/a

Reinbacher played limited minutes in his NHL debut but he made the most of the 11:17 TOI he received, scoring an assist, a hit, two blocks and two shots on goal. With all the East’s playoff seeds decided, this game only matters for the purposes of seeding with the Habs potentially earning home-ice advantage in the first round against the Lightning. Reinbacher could play increased minutes should the Habs decide to rest some of their veterans.
