Defensemen such as Filip Hronek and Sam Malinski are poised to boost your fantasy hockey team's scoring.
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Filip Hronek, VAN vs. VGK (48% rostered) - FanDuel $5,300
Criminally underrated because he plays on the league’s worst team, Hronek is on a four-game points streak and will most likely play upwards of 26 minutes for the Canucks in a tough matchup. He plays in all situations and offers multi-category coverage.
Sam Malinski, COL at STL (44% rostered) - FanDuel $4,900
Brent Burns is scoring the points but Malinski remains the safer and smarter play in fantasy. He’s playing top pair with Devon Toews and shares PP2 duties with Burns, and offers similar shot volume but with slightly better peripherals in blocked shots.
Axel Sandin-Pellikka, DET vs. CBJ (2% rostered) - FanDuel $3,500
Sandin-Pellikka is skating limited minutes but he’s coming off a two-point game against the Wild and will quarterback PP2. With Mo Seider ahead of him, ASP’s upside is capped, but note the Jackets have been really struggling and the Wings offense has the ability to pour goals. Look for a better effort following a loss to the Wild on Sunday.
