Unearth hidden defensive gems! Filip Hronek, Sam Malinski, and Dmitry Orlov offer fantasy upside.

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Filip Hronek, VAN at LA (48% rostered) – FanDuel $5,400

Hronek does it all for the Canucks, accounting for two of their 10 shots – yes, you read that right – against the Knights on Tuesday, and added six hits. The Canucks are a low-upside team but can still occasionally score goals, and the Kings will be an easier opponent. Hronek provides the potential for points, shots, hits and blocks, and regularly skates over 26 minutes for the Canucks.

Sam Malinski, COL vs. CGY (44% rostered) – FanDuel $5,000

Malinski’s assist in St. Louis on Tuesday was his ninth point in eight games, and he continues to play a big role for the Avs in Cale Makar’s absence. This should be a very favorable matchup for the Avs, who beat the Flames in their previous meeting, 9-2, with Malinski scoring a goal and an assist.

Dmitry Orlov, SJ at ANA (22% rostered) – FanDuel $4,100

Orlov collected a power-play assist last night against the Oilers, his sixth assist in seven games. He continues to quarterback the power play with John Klingberg sitting, and this should prove to be an easier matchup with the Ducks losing six straight and allowing 29 goals during that span.
