Filip Hronek powers Canucks defense with consistency. Tony DeAngelo seizes a potential PP1 opportunity, offering hidden fantasy upside.
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Filip Hronek, VAN at BUF (54% rostered) - FanDuel $5,200
As far as consistency goes, Hronek’s still the best player to stream on the Canucks blue line. He skated 30 minutes against the Bruins and finished with two points, giving him nine points in his past nine games. He’s also a capable shot blocker for added value, and the Sabres offense should be able to overwhelm the Canucks defense for long periods in this game.
Tony DeAngelo, NYI vs. NJ (3% rostered) - FanDuel $4,200
Matthew Schaefer is day-to-day due to an illness, and should he miss the game, look for DeAngelo to take over on PP1. He scored an assist Saturday against the Leafs, his first point since Dec. 11, but skated over 22 minutes and registered a shot for the fifth straight game. He offers very modest fantasy value but should get a bump with an increased role.
