Boost your fantasy squad with rising defensemen. Bowen Byram ignites Buffalo's offense; K'Andre Miller's scoring surge meets struggling Ducks.
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Bowen Byram, BUF at NYR (30% rostered) - FanDuel $5,000
Byram’s fantasy value is gaining a lot of steam with two assists in his last game, bringing his seven-game total to three goals and six assists. The Rangers are shorthanded without top defenseman Adam Fox and top goalie Igor Shesterkin, and their struggles at home this season have been well-chronicled. Owen Power is also on a heater with a three-game assists streak, but Byram clearly possesses more offensive upside right now.
K’Andre Miller, CAR vs. ANA (17% rostered) - FanDuel $4,900
No power play, no problem for Miller, who’s racked up six points in six games, all at even strength. He’s been on a hot run lately even though he doesn’t generally fire a lot of shots on net and provides marginal fantasy value in most leagues. However, the Ducks are slumping right now with seven straight losses and allowed at least five goals in five of those games.
Cam York, PHI vs. TOR (4% rostered) - FanDuel $5,300
York’s play is definitely trending up with three points in two games and played over 24 minutes in each of those games. With Jamie Drysdale’s status questionable for this game, York may be in line to play increased minutes and shares the ice with top scorer Trevor Zegras on PP1.
