Philip Broberg ignites the Blues' top power play unit, racking up points and minutes. Discover other waiver wire gems to boost your fantasy defense.

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Bowen Byram, BUF vs. WSH (48% rostered)

The increased shot volume is very good. Byram still has the occasional ‘cardio game’ where he skates around a lot and doesn’t produce a whole lot, but at least it’s happening less frequently. Over the past nine games he’s notched eight assists and 17 shots, well above his recent career averages.

Dmitry Orlov, SJ at BOS (16% rostered)

Orlov is always a streaming option if you need someone who plays a lot of minutes, including the power play, but provides spotty production because offense was never the best part of his game to begin with. You’re hoping he picks up an assist, but Orlov at least provides a pretty high floor with hits and blocks.

Philip Broberg, STL at CAR (7% rostered)

Broberg gets the lucky assignment of quarterbacking the Blues’ best PP unit with Robert Thomas, Dylan Holloway and Jimmy Snuggerud. He’s playing a significant amount of minutes, including 32:51 (!) against the Sharks, and currently riding a four-game points streak. The Blues may not get many shots against the Canes, but their goaltending has been so bad it won’t take many shots to beat them.
