On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Patrick Kane, RW, DET at EDM (51% rostered) - FanDuel $6,200
Last chance to roster Kane (and I stop sounding like a broken record) since he's been one of the best DFS and streaming options lately, and now rostered in over half of Yahoo leagues. Finally. A two-assist effort against the Flames last night now gives him 19 points in 21 games, and another matchup awaits against the rudderless Oilers.
Beckett Sennecke, RW, ANA at NYI (45% rostered) - FanDuel $5,200
With 26 points in 30 games and in the midst of a hot streak with six points in three games, it’s a little bewildering why Sennecke isn’t rostered in more leagues. Whatever – their loss is your gain. Not an easy matchup against Ilya Sorokin but the Ducks offense has rarely been stoppable. Sennecke’s ice time has also increased, skating at least 18 minutes in two of his past four games.
Adam Fantilli, C, CBJ vs. OTT (46% rostered) - FanDuel $5,900
Dmitri Voronkov, LW, CBJ vs. OTT (32% rostered) - FanDuel $$5,200
A decent line stacking opportunity here with Kirill Marchenko, as the Jackets have had little trouble scoring lately and the Sens are mired in a slump. Voronkov has been more productive lately with two goals in three games but Fantilli has the higher upside with higher shot volume and talent.
Pavel Zacha, C/LW, BOS at WPG (33% rostered) - FanDuel $5,600
Without Connor Hellebuyck, the Jets can’t keep pucks out of their net. Zacha’s on a four-game points streak with three goals and two assists, and he has a good chance to keep the streak going against the Jets, who have allowed at least three goals in all but three of their past 10 games.
Pavel Buchnevich, C/LW/RW, STL at NSH (21% rostered) - FanDuel $4,400
Impressive performance by the Preds in a shootout win against the Avs in their previous game, but Buchnevich is coming in hot with a four-game points streak. With triple-position eligibility, Buchnevich provides maximum flexibility for fantasy managers against a team that has been awful for most of the season.
Josh Doan, LW/RW, BUF at VAN (20% rostered) - FanDuel $5,700
Doan has scored three goals and four assists in his past six games and has the enviable position of playing against the league’s worst team. Thatcher Demko is expected to be back between the pipes so scoring will be a lot harder, but the Sabres should still have the edge on offense in this game. When Doan gets hot, he scores in bunches.
Collin Graf, RW, SJ at TOR (1% rostered) - FanDuel $3,900
Graf was the Sharks’ lone goal scorer in their 4-1 loss to the Flyers and it was his third straight game with a goal. Playing on the top line with Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith certainly helps, and it’s the best stretch of hockey Graf has played since making the club out of camp.
Tommy Novak, C, PIT vs. MTL (1% rostered) - FanDuel $3,900
Novak has been elevated to L1 with Sidney Crosby with Evgeni Malkin injured and the Pens juggling their lines as a result. It’s paid immediate dividends with Novak scoring a goal in each of his past two since the promotion, and also extending his points streak to four games. The Habs are reeling from poor defense and even poorer goaltending, though that may change with minor-league prospect and recent call-up Jacob Fowler expected to start.
