On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Cole Perfetti, C/LW/RW, WPG at STL (22% rostered) - FanDuel $4,400
This is potentially a good matchup for the Jets, who face a team that allows the most goals per game. Though the Jets rely heavily on their top line, Perfetti is the best of the rest, and it looks like he’s starting to heat up with three assists in his past four games.
Jake Neighbours, LW/RW, STL vs. WPG (20% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
As injuries pile up for the Blues, Neighbours has taken advantage of the opportunity and enters this matchup on a three-game points streak. I think he still leaves a lot to be desired on offense and could shoot the puck more often, but what you’re getting is a hot streak and a player who can provide a lot of hits.
Mackie Samoskevich, RW, FLA vs. LA (6% rostered) - FanDuel $4,500
If you’re in a multi-category league that counts shots and hits, Samoskevich is a good streaming option on a night with just five games on tap. He plays L3 but provides some fantasy upside playing PP2, and he did notch a power-play assist in their previous game against the Lightning. The Kings may be shorthanded after Quinton Byfield and Philipp Danault sat out their previous game due to illness, and backup Anton Forsberg is expected to draw the start following Darcy Kuemper’s injury.
Barrett Hayton, C, UTA at DET (2% rostered) - FanDuel $4,100
It’s been a tough, tough season for Hayton, but following a benching, things may be perking up. Playing as the 2C with Nick Schmaltz centering L1 while Logan Cooley is hurt, Hayton has now scored a point in consecutive games, including his third goal of the season last night in Boston. This is a boom-or-bust play because Hayton doesn’t usually shoot the puck very often, but he can be a decent playmaker and he’s expected to have Dylan Guenther and Lawson Course on his wings, both of whom have the ability to score goals.
