On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Gabriel Landeskog, LW, COL at NYI (43% rostered)
Call it a renaissance. After a tepid start to the season, Landeskog seems to be hitting his stride. He assisted on two goals against the Canucks to give him seven points in his past four games, and he’s slated to play L2 with the equally red-hot Brock Nelson and PP1 with Nathan MacKinnon.
Patrick Kane, RW, DET at CBJ (37% rostered)
A bit of a travesty Kane’s not getting enough attention in fantasy despite being nearly a point-per-game player. His peripherals aren’t great, but if you need points, it’s hard to go wrong with arguably the best American player ever. He notched two helpers against the Bruins to give him seven assists in his past six games.
Nick Paul, C/LW, TB vs. PIT (5% rostered)
An assist against the Isles extended Paul’s points streak to four games and he’s filled in nicely for the injured Brayden Point. Paul has an elite finisher in Jake Guentzel on his left wing, and he’s being used more in offensive situations with a depleted lineup.
Ryan Hartman, C/RW, MIN at CGY (3% rostered)
There weren’t a lot of chances to score points in a 1-0 win against the Oilers, but note Hartman played 18:58 with two shots on goal as the Wild’s 1C. Hartman’s filled in this spot numerous times before and fared well, and I think the Wild should have an easier time scoring against the Flames.
Fabian Zetterlund, LW/RW, OTT vs. NYR (3% rostered)
It took a while but Zetterlund seems to have found his footing with the Sens. He scored his fourth goal in six games against the Habs, and may continue to flourish playing L1 with Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle. The drawback is Zetterlund doesn’t see much PP, if at all, but so far it hasn’t prevented him from piling up points.
Alex Steeves, C, BOS vs. STL (1% rostered)
Steeves played a season-high 16:52 against the Red Wings and responded with two goals, ensuring he’ll get another look on the top line in David Pastrnak’s absence with some PP2. Steeves has proven he has the scoring touch in the AHL, and now he’s making the most of his opportunities. This is a very favorable matchup against arguably the worst defensive team in the league.
