On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Ivan Demidov, RW, MTL vs. TOR (59% rostered) - FanDuel $5,100
Demidov can be boom or bust but the Leafs are reeling going 0-5-2 over the past two weeks and allowing at least four goals in five of those games. This is a favorable matchup against a hated rival for the Habs, and Demidov has been saving his best for the Leafs, having registered three assists in three games against them already this season.
Pavel Zacha, C/LW/ BOS vs. LA (30% rostered) - FanDuel $5,300
We’re riding a hot streak with Zacha coming off a hat-trick performance against the Pens and extending his points streak to five games. It feels very unsustainable because Zacha’s been frighteningly efficient, especially for a player who doesn’t shoot the puck very much, but this matchup gives Zacha a good chance to keep his streak going. The Kings under D.J. Smith have yet to really come up with any new solutions and have allowed an average of 3.75 goals per game.
Jimmy Snuggerud, RW, STL vs. NYI (8% rostered) - FanDuel $4,900
That’s now a goal and an assist in two straight games for Snuggerud, who’s slated to play L1 with Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway. Though the Blues have spread out their ice time, this is clearly their best line, and they’ll need them to produce against Ilya Sorokin. At worst, Snuggerud can provide shots and hits.
Andrew Copp, C/LW, DET at FLA (5% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
Dylan Larkin remains out of the lineup, which means Copp remains on L1 with Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane (31% rostered, also a streaming option). Copp is certainly not your ideal 1C, but if he’s getting the minutes, then he’s worth getting your attention. He’s scored three assists in his past four games while winning 43 faceoffs, and his prowess in the dot is what will keep him in the top six. This is a potential revenge game for the Wings, who lost 3-1 on home ice last Friday and coming off three days’ rest.
Matthew Wood, RW, NSH at SEA (1% rostered) - FanDuel $3,600
Wood has scored three goals in his past two games and seeing his ice time tick up. The Preds’ season is likely already done with a playoff spot practically out of reach, which means more ice time for their young players. The increased shooting volume is a good sign; Wood is a goal scorer, and his imposing size could create matchup problems for the Kraken.
