On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Beckett Sennecke, RW, ANA vs. MTL (50% rostered) - FanDuel $6,400
Chris Kreider is also a good option but Sennecke is the far more dynamic offensive player anchoring his own line with Mason McTavish and Alex Killorn. The Habs’ inconsistent defense and goaltending could allow the Ducks offense to feast, with Sennecke coming off a two-point effort against the Islanders. It was the seventh point in five games for the Calder candidate.
Dylan Holloway, C/LW, STL at SJ (42% rostered) - FanDuel $5,300
Holloway can be an excellent source of shots on goal, averaging well over two per game for the season and registering 18 in his past four games. The offensive production is a little harder to predict because the Blues spread out their ice time, but this is potentially a good matchup against a porous defensive team.
Matt Savoie, C/RW, EDM vs. CAR (5% rostered) - FanDuel $4,400
Savoie’s hot streak is at four games with a goal and six assists playing on Leon Draisaitl’s left wing. If there’s anything the Oilers do really well it’s scoring goals, though this is a tough matchup against the Canes who tend to dominate puck possession. However, the Oilers should be good enough to capitalize even if the scoring chances are minimal, and betting on Draisaitl’s line is as good a bet as any.
Alex Newhook, C/LW, MTL at ANA (3% rostered) - FanDuel $5,000
Newhook has missed so much time that it’s easy to forget he was one of the league’s more highly-regarded prospects once upon a time. Since returning to the lineup, he’s scored four points in three games playing L2 with Ivan Demidov and PP2 with Kirby Dach and Noah Dobson. With the way Newhook’s been playing, he should be an excellent value play in DFS games.
Michael Bunting, LW, DAL vs. COL (2% rostered) - FanDuel n/a
This is a good opportunity for Bunting to impress his new team after he was dealt to the Stars yesterday. The Stars are on a franchise-best 10-game winning streak heading into this game, and Roope Hintz is expected to return to the lineup. It remains to be seen where Bunting fits, but it will likely be on one of the Stars’ three scoring lines with some PP2.
Michael Rasmussen, C/LW, DET vs. FLA (0% rostered) - FanDuel $3,900
The Wings have been throwing out different looks lately and Rasmussen wins the lottery playing L1 with Dylan Larkin and Patrick Kane. They’ve been trying to spark a winning streak but have not been able to do so, losing seven of their past 11 but now face a mediocre Panthers team playing the second game of a back-to-back. Rasmussen doesn’t have much offensive upside, but the increase in ice time – at least 16 minutes played in the past two games – gives him a few more chances than usual to score a point.
