On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.
Mika Zibanejad, C/RW, NYR vs. WSH (77% rostered) – FanDuel $9,600
If you want to load up on wingers, Zibanejad is a good value play relative to his role as the Rangers’ top center. He lined up next to Artemi Panarin in place of the injured Vincent Trocheck, and despite the Rangers’ tough start to the season and Zibanejad’s own struggles last season, he’s been one of their top forwards so far. He led all Rangers forwards in TOI on Saturday and scored a goal in a 6-1 win against the Pens.
Connor McMichael, LW, WSH at NYR (31% rostered) – FanDuel $7,800
Spencer Carbery has put his lines in a blender early in the season in an effort to get his offense going. McMichael has been moved off Pierre-Luc Dubois’ line and now joins Dylan Strome and Alex Ovechkin, which is a clear upgrade. McMichael provides a high floor in multi-category leagues with two hits, five shots and five face-off wins so far this season. At this rate, he won’t be held off the scoresheet for long.
Conor Sheary, LW, NYR vs. WSH (0% rostered) – FanDuel $3,400
As a result of Trocheck’s injury and Zibanejad moving back to center, Sheary – who won two Cups with the Pens under Mike Sullivan, so there’s lots of familiarity and trust there – gets the call-up to J.T. Miller and Will Cuylle’s line. This is a good spot for Sheary; even though his line with Noah Laba and Taylor Raddysh was off to a good start, playing with a playmaker such as Miller is a better complement to Sheary’s offensive game. Sheary notched a power-play assist Saturday against the Pens and he’s potentially a great value play in DFS games.
