Goalies
Akira Schmid, VGK at PHI (46% rostered)
Though they’re facing Carter Hart’s former team, I suspect Schmid will get this start after Hart started two straight games and lost his most recent game against the Isles. It was a curious decision to go with Hart two games in a row considering Schmid was coming off a 24-save shutout, and now’s his chance to reassert himself as the top dog on the depth chart. This is a tough matchup that could go either way, but the advantage still goes to the Knights who are 4-0-1 in their past five.
Jet Greaves, CBJ vs. OTT (44% rostered) – FanDuel
Perhaps Elvis Merzlikins gets this start but I do like the way Greaves has been playing, and he was the de facto starter before that. The Sens are slumping hard with three straight losses and six losses in their past eight, and also having some trouble scoring. Being on home ice should help the Jackets a little, especially with matchups, where they’re 6-3-3 vs. 7-8-3 on the road.
Dennis Hildeby, TOR vs. SJ (35% rostered) – FanDuel
Look for Hildeby to get his third straight start and he’s certainly earned it, too, with only one goal allowed in his past two games. The Sharks can be a dangerous offensive team but they’re far less effective on the road (5-9-0) and rank 30th in goals for per game. Given the Leafs’ recent hot streak and Hildeby’s play, he should be one of the better streaming options of the night.
Jonas Johansson, TB at NJ (18% rostered) – FanDuel
Hard to trust Johansson, but he’s admittedly been excellent in his past three starts, never allowing more than one goal. The Devils sans Jack Hughes are a far less intimidating opponent, and they lost five in a row with only seven goals scored before their most recent win against the Hawks. The Lightning have all of their key forwards back in the lineup and their banged-up defense has not been a liability.
