Casey DeSmith, DAL at ANA (26% rostered) - FanDuel $7,700
This matchup is a little less intimidating with the Ducks having some trouble scoring lately with just 10 goals in their past four games, three of which were losses. To DeSmith’s credit, he’s been excellent this season with eight wins and a .923 SP in 12 games. With a pretty light schedule, DeSmith is worth taking the risk as a low-cost streaming option.
Ilya Sorokin, NYI vs. VAN (97% rostered) – FanDuel $7,800
Sorokin is the second-most costly option in DFS but I think it’s justified and worthwhile; though the Canucks are 2-0-0 since trading Quinn Hughes, they’ve scored just two goals (and one empty netter) on limited shots in those games, and even prior to the trade were struggling to score. I think Sorokin will have a relatively easy night with a good chance of earning his 13th win.
Karel Vejmelka, UTA vs. NJ (74% rostered) – FanDuel $7,200
If DFS managers want a less pricey option, Vejmelka has won three straight games and coming off an excellent 27-save game against the Red Wings. The Devils’ play is trending back up again with three wins in their past five games following a five-game losing streak, but their offense has been very quiet since Jack Hughes’ injury and now ranks 24th in goals for per game. The Mammoth are a strong team at home with an 8-5-1 record and rank seventh in goals for per game, ensuring Vejmelka gets quality goal support.
