Goalies
John Gibson, DET vs. VAN (56% rostered) - FanDuel $7,700
Despite winning just two of his past four games, Gibson has been excellent since Dec. 1 with 10-2-0 record and a .925 SP after an awful November (0-4-1, .852 SP, 3.91 GAA). This is a favorable matchup against a team that can’t score and lost four in a row, and he’s been very good against the Canucks throughout his entire career with a 14-5-2 record, .932 SP and 2.09 GAA.
Colten Ellis, BUF at NYR (1% rostered) - FanDuel $7,500
Ellis was in the starter’s net Wednesday morning, indicating he’ll get his first start since returning from injury, though Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is also a good option here. Ellis had a couple of good starts before his injury, and it’s difficult to predict how he’ll fare given his sparse track record and the long layoff. However, this is a good matchup for the hard-charging Sabres, who have won 11 of their past 12 and the Rangers have been horrendous at home. Even the potential return of captain J.T. Miller likely won’t move the needle very much, and the Rangers are expected to start Jonathan Quick with Igor Shesterkin injured.
Connor Ingram, EDM at WPG (18% rostered) - FanDuel $7,300
Ingram could get his second straight start after allowing just two goals on 26 shots (.923 SP) against the Preds. There’s more confidence in him than Calvin Pickard, who could get the start. But, in any case, the bet here is the Oilers offense will carry this team once again despite a tough matchup against Connor Hellebuyck. The Jets have been disastrous with a 10-game losing streak, including a 3-1 loss to the Oilers on Dec. 29. Look for Ingram to get the win, and a good save percentage or a low goals against will be a bonus.
