Goalies
Filip Gustavsson, MIN vs. NSH (97% rostered) – FanDuel $7,300
It’s a potential value play here with Gustavsson, who kicked off November with a strong start against the Canucks. The Wild are coming off a two-day break facing a Preds team that’s playing the second game of a back-to-back and having trouble generating offense all season. I don’t think the Wild have defended very well and Gustavsson could be a lot better, but the Wild have a clear advantage.
Lukas Dostal, ANA vs. FLA (72% rostered) – FanDuel $7,400
The Ducks have a good offense that can provide solid goal support and Dostal has a chance to sweep the Panthers. He’s on a roll with three straight wins and playing excellent with a .916 SP. There’s an opportunity for Dostal to make a lot of saves and steal a game as the Ducks are expected to be underdogs.
Jakub Dobes, MTL vs. PHI (59% rostered) – FanDuel $7,600
A reasonable cost for arguably the best goalie in the league right now. Dobes is so far unbeaten with a .930 SP, and the Flyers are having trouble scoring yet again, mustering just three goals in their past two games. The Flyers are 0-2-1 and averaging just 1.67 goals per game on the road this season.
Akira Schmid, VGK vs. DET (25% rostered) – FanDuel $7,800
I’m not fond of this play in DFS games but do think the Knights can pull off a win. They’ve had three days’ rest while the Wings are finishing off a five-game road trip and playing their fourth game in six nights, two of which went into extra time. Fatigue could be a factor in this game. Schmid has not shown much in Adin Hill’s absence but he only needs to better than the other goalie at the end of the ice; the Wings have the fourth-worst save percentage at 5-on-5, per naturalstattrick.com.
