Goalies
Logan Thompson, WSH vs. NYI (96% rostered) – FanDuel $7,700
Sometimes you just have to splurge. Thompson is the best goalie among the six starters for Friday’s slate, and while I’m tempted to reach for Lukas Dostal at $7,500 in DFS games, I feel much more comfortable with the Caps’ matchup. The Caps have historically had the upper hand in this matchup in recent seasons and Thompson is 3-1-1 with a .914 SP against them in his career. The Isles are playing the second half of a back-to-back, the last game of a four-game road trip, their third game in four nights, and they’ve had trouble generating goals during their three-game losing streak.
Mackenzie Blackwood, COL at VGK (97% rostered) – FanDuel $7,300
The Avs play back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, so Scott Wedgewood may get this start and I think both Wedgewood and Blackwood are fine options. This is definitely a bit of a scary start because the Knights are so good, but they have stumbled a bit and I like the relative value here with Akira Schmid, the Knights’ expected starter, at $7,400. I think Schmid is the weakest goalie in this matchup, and that could be the difference maker.
