On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Dylan Cozens, C, OTT vs. PHI (42% rostered)
This game should feature quite a few goals. Cozens has gone a little quiet lately but snapped a 10-game goal drought with a goal against the Habs. He’s slated to play L2 with Claude Giroux and on PP1 with the Sens’ top players.
Evgeni Malkin, C/LW, PIT vs. BOS (41% rostered)
The Pens should have no problems scoring against the Bruins, and Malkin has been very good since returning to the lineup with a goal and four points in his past four games. He’s scored 50 points in 50 career games against the Bruins, and despite being in the twilight of his career has a very good chance to maintain that pace against a bad defensive team.
Jason Zucker, LW, BUF at TB (20% rostered)
Sabres-Lightning games tend to feature a lot of goals and Zucker’s already scored a goal against them this season. He’s scored six points in his past seven games playing L3 with Alex Tuch and PP1 with Tage Thompson.
Kent Johnson, C/LW/RW, CBJ at WSH (19% rostered)
Another 7-0 win is highly unlikely, but it’s also unlikely the Caps keep the Jackets off the board. Expected starter Charlie Lindgren has not been good and Johnson’s points streak was extended to three games on Saturday, including two multi-point performances.
Charlie Coyle, C/RW, COL at ANA (9% rostered)
Coyle may rest since the Avs have nothing to play for, but if he does, he’s in line to keep his five-game points streak going. He played 21:19 with the Avs resting most of their players, and it’s going to be a similar situation in this game. Coyle has scored eight of his 10 points with the Avs in his past five games.
Matt Coronato, RW, CGY vs. SJ (7% rostered)
Coronato rides a four-game points streak into this game, a must-win for the Flames if they want to make the playoffs. The Sharks are arguably the league’s worst defensive team and Coronato’s in a good position to take advantage as one of the Flames’ most dangerous pure scorers. He’s up to 23 goals in 74 games this season.
Dawson Mercer, C/RW, NJ vs. NYI (7% rostered)
The Isles could start fourth-string Tristan Lennox, and if his previous appearance was any indication, the Devils could be in line for a lot of goals. Lennox replaced Marcus Hogberg but was pulled after allowing just one goal on two shots in four minutes of play. Mercer is a frustrating fantasy player because he gets a lot of opportunities but doesn’t produce much. He’s scored two assists in his past three games – that’s a scoring spike for him – and there’s potential for more in this matchup.
Tyson Foerster, C/LW/RW, PHI at OTT (4% rostered)
Foerster was featured in this space yesterday and his hot streak continues after scoring two goals against the Isles. He’s scored eight goals in his past six games and plays PP1 with Matvei Michkov.
Matt Grzelcyk, D, PIT vs. BOS (6% rostered)
Grzelcyk delivered two assists in his previous game and faces a vulnerable opponent that’s been one of the worst teams in the league over the past couple of months. Grzelcyk’s main fantasy value is his role on the power play, and he’s expected to stay in that spot in this game.
