It seems a little late to fire Lindy Ruff. It would've happened a while ago, and it likely won't now with Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes back in the lineup. It's not all on Ruff -- their goaltending looks clueless some nights -- but stranger things have happened.
As for Timo Meier, given the inconsistent play due to various injuries and playing up and down the lineup, it's time we admit that this is just a lost season, and that Meier's best days as a Devil will come later.
Timo MeierHe's been hugely disappointing in a fantasy due to his potential as a 40-goal scorer with up to 150 hits. He's on pace to finish with less than 20 goals this season and his current minus-22 rating is tied with his career-low; that was set in 2019-20 with the Sharks when they won just 29 games that season.
