But a move to a new team doesn't always benefit a good goalie. New systems, a different cast of defensemen and new surroundings can negatively impact a goalie.
The Devils' defense is talented, but it's not stout. It's no secret, however, that they need a goalie. With their offensive firepower, perhaps Markström can rack up the wins more easily.
It will at least give the Devils a better chance to win games, and it will re-unite Markström with his former coach, Travis Green.
