With a lack of scoring talent, the Caps are leaning heavily on their veterans, but so far it's been their goaltending that has helped them stay in the playoff hunt.
Pacioretty is skating on the top line but the Caps still lack a premier playmaker to set him up. Will stacking Pacioretty and Ovechkin on the top line make a difference?
The lack of a playmaker is similarly hurting Ovechkin's production. His goal-scoring rate has dropped but he also generates plenty of rebounds. Still on pace for career lows, Ovechkin has at least picked it up a little bit. Fantasy managers who bought low on Ovechkin previously have certainly benefitted.
