The Sleepers and Keepers fantasy hockey podcast hosts Jason Chen and Michael Amato had soured on Jonathan Huberdeau and Yegor Sharangovich earlier this season, but their recent play has Jason and Michael changing their tune.
Huberdeau saw a historic 60-point drop in his first year with the Flames. Pegged as a sleeper pick going into the 2023-24 season, Huberdeau scored just five points and was a minus-10 in nine games to start the season. After a brief comeback in November with 10 points in 14 games, he then had just one assist in 13 games in December.
Sharangovich was a key piece when the Flames traded Tyler Toffoli to the Devils, and similarly had a slow start with only two points in October.
Since then, both players have picked up their play with Huberdeau averaging a point per game in January and Sharangovich scoring 28 points in his past 34 games.
They've formed a very good 1-2 punch on the Flames' top line with Elias Lindholm in the middle.
Huberdeau and Sharangovich are on fire and worth rostering right now.
