Jason Chen and Michael Amato discuss Sean Couturier’s overlooked draft value and Owen Tippett becoming a great source of goals, shots and hits.

As part of the Metro Division preview, the Sleepers and Keepers fantasy hockey podcast hosts Jason Chen and Michael Amato discuss some burning questions regarding the Philadelphia Flyers.

The last time Sean Couturier played in a regular season game, Mike Yeo was the head coach, Chuck Fletcher was the GM and Claude Giroux was the captain. Oh, how the times have changed!

Nonetheless, after two back surgeries and a span of 646 days since his last regular-season game, Couturier is set to return as the Flyers’ No. 1 center. He’s going undrafted in most Yahoo leagues and presents incredible value in the late rounds for top-line and top PP value.

Couturier could line up with Travis Konecny, last season’s top scorer, on his left wing and Owen Tippett on his right wing. With 27 goals, 231 shots and 125 hits last season, Tippett has quickly become a valuable banger league asset.

With no clear option on their power play, third-year pro Cam York looks poised to take the reins. Though he was used sparingly on the man advantage last season, he’s a potential deep sleeper. Like, REM sleep kind of deep.
