The Florida Panthers earned their third straight win on Saturday in front of a raucous crowd in Sunrise.

Florida was all over the Calgary Flames for much of the afternoon, putting up 42 shots on 76 attempts claiming the victory 3-0.

The story of the opening period was the play of Flames goaltender Dan Vladar. He made 16 saves while keeping the game scoreless through the first twenty minutes.

It would be Florida’s fourth line that opening the scoring, capitalizing on a Flames line change and quickly moving the puck to the front of Calgary’s net.

That’s where Jonah Gadjovich picked up his own rebound and popped the puck over Vladar at the 4:47 mark.

Florida didn’t allow the frustration of another disallowed goal get the best of them, as Evan Rodrigues found received puck at the side of Calgary’s net and fired a shot that went off the inside of Vladar’s stick and into the net, giving the Cats a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.

An insurance goal would come with 3:52 to go, and it was a pretty tally off the stick of rookie Mackie Samoskevich in the game’s final minutes.

Sergei Bobrovsky was solid and stable for the Panthers, earning his third shutout of the season as the Cats continue to pile up wins.

    On to the Lightning.
