The Florida Panthers are gearing up for their Game 7 matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 18. This is a massive contest for both teams, as the winner will advance to the Eastern Conference Final and avoid elimination.
Panthers forward Brad Marchand is no stranger to Game 7s, as this is going to be the 13th of his career. While speaking to reporters ahead of the Panthers' Game 7 contest, he made it clear that he is excited for the challenge.
"Game 7s, these are the ones you live for," Marchand said. "You get excited about it... You don't really worry about the pressure. You just worry about enjoying it and having fun. Whether you win or lose, they're incredible moments. You want to give yourself the best opportunity and to do that, you have to be in the moment all night and just be excited about it."
Marchand is certainly a player the Panthers should take advice from, as he has had plenty of success of post-season success. Now, he is hoping to add to it by helping the Cats pick up a win against the Maple Leafs in Game 7 from here.
In 11 playoff games this year for the Panthers, Marchand has two goals, nine points, and a plus-8 rating. It will be interesting to see if he can build on these numbers in a must-win Game 7.
