Jonah Gadjovich remains with Panthers, agent previously issued statement saying Gadjovich was not involved in alleged sexual assault
News broke on Wednesday morning from The Globe and Mail that five members of Canada’s gold medal-winning 2018 World Junior team were set to face charges related to allegations of sexual assault.
The alleged incident occurred in June of 2018 at a London, Ontario hotel following a Hockey Canada Foundation gala and golf event that included that year’s World Junior champions.
A woman alleged that eight CHL players, a group that included members of the 2018 Canadian World Junior team, sexually assaulted her after at the hotel following the event.
The victim reached a settlement with Hockey Canada and the CHL in 2022 and dropped a lawsuit she had previously filed against the two entities and the eight players.

A current member of the Florida Panthers, forward Jonah Gadjovich, won gold with Team Canada that year.
When news initially broke of the settlement in 2022, Gadjovich was playing for the San Jose Sharks.
Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now got in touch with Gadjovich’s agent, Jason Harshaw, who released a statement saying that his client “was not involved” in the alleged incident.
The full statement, per San Jose Hockey Now, can be read below:
“The events described in the story are serious and reprehensible. Jonah was not involved in the incident and does not have any comment on legal proceedings and the settlement involving other parties.”
Gadjovich was also on the ice Wednesday morning with his Panthers teammates and is expected to be in lineup when Florida hosts the Arizona Coyotes Wednesday night.
Why is that noteworthy?
Over the past couple days, members of that 2018 WJC team have been suddenly taking absence from their respective teams for unknown reasons.
Perhaps more will come to light in the coming hours and days as the five players begin surrendering to the London Police Services.
For now, the police are not commenting on the report, per TSN.
