The Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers kicks off on June 4. It is certainly a series that fans are excited about it, as it is a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Final, and both teams have a ton of talent.
With these two clubs set to square off again, Oilers superstar Connor McDavid had some serious praise for the Panthers.
"Going up against a great team. Stanley Cup champs of last year, third finals in a row," McDavid said. "Not much you can say about them. They're great. We'll have our hands full, but we're a good team. We're a special team, and we feel good about our game."
It is hard to disagree with McDavid's take on the Panthers, as the Atlantic Division club's run over the last three years has been incredible. However, it also makes sense that McDavid feels confident about how the Oilers are playing right now, as they have gone 12-2 since losing the first two games of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings.
It is now going to be interesting to see if the Panthers can shut down McDavid and the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final from here. McDavid has been spectacular this post-season, as he has six goals leads the league with 20 assists and 26 points in 16 playoff games this year.
