Rodrigues and his family brought the Cup for a special visit to his alma mater, Boston University

Rodrigues and his family brought the Cup for a special visit to his alma mater, Boston University

Longtime Keeper of the Cup Phil Pritchard better look out, someone may be gunning for his job.

On Friday, Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues received his special day with the Stanley Cup.

He spent the day in Boston with his wife Christie and their three young children.

At one point, Rodrigues took the Stanley Cup to his alma mater, Boston University, where he played four seasons from 2011 to 2015. It's also where he met his wife.

After visiting BU, the Rodrigues clan hopped on a boat and took the Cup for a scenic trip down the Charles River.

Based off photos posted to social media, the Cup was well taken care of throughout the day.

That’s because the historic trophy had a few extra white-gloved hands to help ensure its safety.

Rodrigues’ two young boys, Grayson and Noah, were apparently trying out for jobs with the Hockey Hall of Fame as the newest Keepers of the Cup.

The two little men were dressed for the part, wearing their suits, ties and, most importantly, white gloves while helping handle Lord Stanley’s Cup for their champion father.

It allowed for a special family moment, when they first received the Cup and saw the Rodrigues name hammered into its side. It's also the first time the name 'Evan' has made it onto the Cup, another cool little morsel to enjoy.

"I think that was a little chills moment when the kids brought me the cup and seeing my name on it," said Rodrigues. "Yeah, it definitely gave me chills and will be a memory that definitely will be very vivid for the rest of my life."

Check out some of the great social media posts that came from the Rodrigues’ visit to BU:
