Panthers open 2024 Development Camp with eye on homegrown talent

There are several young Panthers who will be looking to turn some heads at D-camp

Florida Panthers hold full team practice in Fort Lauderdale on June 17.

It’s been exactly two weeks since the Florida Panthers hosted the Edmonton Oilers for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

So if it feels a little soon for the Panthers to be holding development camp, you’re not wrong.

Such is life when you’re a Stanley Cup Champion, it would seem.

Nevertheless, the Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale will be alive with the sights and sounds of Panthers hockey as the youngest Cats will come together for the team’s annual development camp.

It will be the first time that camp is held at the new facility in Fort Lauderdale.

Leading the camp will be Charlotte Checkers Head Coach Geordie Kinnear and his coaching staff.

Nearly half of the 39-player D-camp roster are players that were previously drafted by the Panthers.

That group includes Olof Glifford (2023 Draft-Round 5-159th overall), Tuler Muszelik (22-6-189). Jack Devine (22-7-221), Luke Coughlin (23-6-191), Marek Alscher (22-3-93), Ludvig Jansson (22-4-125). Josh Davies (22-6-186), Gracyn Sawchyn (23-2-63), Jakub Kos (21-6-184), Liam Arnsby (22-7-214), Owen Lindmark (19-5-137) and Sandis Vilmanis (22-5-157), all of whom attended last year’s development camp in Coral Springs.

First time camp attendees who were drafted by Florida include Stepan Zvyagin (23-7-198), Simon Zether (24-4-129), Linus Eriksson (24-2-58), Albert Wikman (23-4-127) and Hunter St. Martin (24-6-193).

The full camp roster can be found below:

The roster will be split into two groups, and that's who they will skate with during the four days camp.

Monday through Wednesday, each group will have an on-ice session that lasts about an hour.

On Thursday, the two groups will scrimmage against each other.

The scrimmage will begin at 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
