Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice confirmed that forward A.J. Greer will return to the lineup for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers.
With Greer coming back from injury, Maurice also confirmed that forward Jesper Boqvist will be scratched for the contest.
Greer missed each of the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final due to a lower-body injury. He last played for the Panthers during their Game 5 matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes, where he had two penalty minutes in 4:22 of ice time.
Getting Greer back is certainly good news for the Panthers, as he will once again provide their bottom six with far more toughess, which is never a bad thing during the playoffs. In 12 games this post-season for the Panthers, the 6-foot-3 forward has two goals, one assist, and an even plus/minus rating.
Boqvist, on the other hand, has recorded two goals, five points, and a plus-1 rating in 13 games this post-season for the Panthers.
