Panthers to host Boston on Opening Night next season

Florida will raise its first Stanley Cup Championship banner to the Amerant Bank Arena rafters

Panthers watch party footage from Game 3 of Stanley Cup Final.

The 2024-25 NHL season will begin in early October, and the Florida Panthers will be front and center.

There will be two games played in Prague on Oct. 4-5 between the New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres that will count as the start of the NHL season.

Three games will mark the opening of the new season on North American soil, starting with a Stanley Cup Championship banner raising in Sunrise.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Panthers will host the Boston Bruins at Amerant Bank Arena, time TBD.

The other two home openers on that date should be fun, particularly the first game in Utah Hockey Club history when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Later that night, the Seattle Kraken will welcome the St. Louis Blues to Climate Pledge Arena.

Considering we’re only a week removed from the Stanley Cup Final, it’s a little crazy to think that we’ll be starting the whole thing up again in three months, but here we are.

When the Panthers take the ice on that October night, they’ll add several new banners to the rafters at Amerant Bank Arena.

There should be an Atlantic Division Champion banner for Florida’s fourth division title, an Eastern Conference Champion banner, the team’s third, and then, for the first time, the Panthers will hang a Stanley Cup Champions banner.

Don’t be surprised if the Stanley Cup also makes an appearance that night.

It will promise to be a special evening for all parties involved, except maybe the Bruins.
