Reinhart logged 8 points last week while helping the Panthers to a 3-0-0 record
Sam Reinhart is having a career year, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
Reinhart recorded four assists during Florida’s 5-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday, bringing his season point total to 37.
His 17 goals are also tied for third-most in the NHL.
On Monday, the NHL recognized Reinhart for his latest strong week of scoring, naming him the Third Star of the Week.
In three games for the Panthers, Reinhart logged 8 points (1-7-8) while helping Florida to a perfect 3-0-0 record.
The pending unrestricted free agent couldn’t have picked a better time to have a massive season.

He’s on pace to shatter his previous career marks of 33 goals and 82 points during the 2021-22 season, his first with the Panthers.
While Reinhart has received attention for his scoring production, his value to the Panthers comes in several areas.
"He's earned every bit of it," Florida Head Coach Paul Maurice said after Sunday's win in Columus. "He's been very, very consistent. He's played big minutes, he kills penalties for us, he is certainly a two-way player. We're looking at his numbers as, it makes him elite, but he's been really more than just an offensive player for us."
This is the second time that Reinhart has been the NHL's Third Star of the Week this season, and back in November he was named First Star of the Week after logging 3 goals and 10 points in a seven-day span.
When speaking about his pending free agency, Reinhart has not been shy about expressing his desire to remain with the Panthers.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see the two sides come to an extension agreement, perhaps even before Reinhart becomes a free agent next summer.
We’ll see how things play out over the next several months.
