Hosts Roy Bellamy and David Dwork also discuss the Florida Panthers' recent turnaround and the problems with the NHL's playoff format

Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola speaks after practice on April 12,.

There was a bit of a nostalgic feel on this week’s episode of The Hockey Show.

THS hosts Roy Bellamy and David Dwork were extremely excited to welcome longtime NHL broadcaster Jeff Rimer to the show.

Rimer has been doing hockey play-by-play for decades and was the original voice of the Florida Panthers.

He discussed some of his favorite moments from his career, including stories with several of his famous friends, like Pete Rose and Michael Buble.

Aside from the interview, Roy and Dave get into the latest happenings with the Panthers.

Florida has points in four straight (3-0-1) and each of the Cats’ last three wins have been shutouts.

They’ve almost surely locked up at least the two seed in the Atlantic Division, but are just one point behind Boston for first place. Florida has two games remaining though while the Bruins have three.

Roy and Dave also discuss the current playoff format and why the NHL should go back to the old seeding where the No. 1 team played the No. 8 team and so on.
