There was no shortage of star power on the ice Wednesday night in Tampa Bay.
Between the home team’s Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov and Andrei Vasilevskiy, or Florida’s Sasha Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk and Sergei Bobrovsky, the superstars were out in full force.
Little did they know, watching the game from the stands was one of the biggest stars of them all…just not necessarily for playing hockey.
Actor and global celebrity Tom Cruise was spotted inside and outside of Amalie Arena Wednesday night, taking in the game between the Panthers and Lightning.
Cruise played hockey as a child and has been spotted at many NHL games over the years, mostly in Los Angeles.
It’s not surprising that he would show up at a Lightning game though, as Cruise reportedly owns a large vacation penthouse in nearby Clearwater.
The Panthers ended up defeating host Tampa Bay 3-2 thanks to a pair of goals off the stick of Sam Reinhart and three assists from Barkov.
Cruise is a big sports fan, not only showing up at NHL games but also at NBA, soccer and even Formula 1 events.
