The Florida Panthers are being celebrated across South Florida.
Since winning their second straight Stanley Cup a few weeks ago, the Panthers have taken their partying to the fans.
Similarly to after winning their first Cup last summer, Florida has been hosted at events across Miami-Dade and Broward County.
They were honored with an epic overnight party at Downtown Miami’s popular nightclub E11EVEN for what is becoming a championship tradition, the city of Fort Lauderdale hosted the Cats’ Stanley Cup parade, and several Fourth of July parades over the weekend featured some kind of nod to the Panthers, including the city of Sunrise, which invited play-by-play man Steve Goldstein to join in the fun.
Sunrise also welcomed fans to a pop-up Stanley Cup-themed drone show on the campus of city hall.
Another local municipality that is set to honor the Panthers is the village of Palmetto Bay.
Council members were set to formally recognize the team’s accomplishments before Monday’s council meeting at Palmetto Bay Village Hall, but that ceremony has been postponed.
According to the village, it will now take place at the council meeting set for Sept. 8.
In a statement, the village said:
“We hope to see everyone at Village Hall later this year as we celebrate the accomplishments of our Stanley Cup Champion hockey team!”
Stay tuned throughout the summer as the Panthers are recognized more and more throughout South Florida, particularly when the Stanley Cup makes its return this month.
