Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk is having a spectacular first season with his new team.
Through 78 games, the 25-year-old has accumulated a career-high 108 points.
He's only the fourth player in NHL history to log back-to-back 100-point seasons with two different teams.
It's also the second-most points ever for a Panthers player in a single season.
To say he's become a fan favorite during his debut season in South Florida would be an understatement.
Panthers fans will soon be packing FLA Live Arena to cheer on Tkachuk and his teammates during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs that begin next week.
Just don't expect to see one of Tkachuk's biggest supporters in attendance.
Like his brother Matthew, Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators is one of the best young players in the league.
Unfortunately for Brady, the Senators have yet to experience any postseason action during his five NHL seasons.
Last year during the playoffs, Brady was seen with his family cheering on Matthew from the Saddledome stands during the Calgary Flames' playoff run that ended in round two.
That begs the question of whether we could see the younger Tkachuk brother in the stands in Sunrise, wearing Panthers red and rooting for the Cats when they embark on their latest postseason journey.
Brady was asked about it during an appearance on the 'Got Yer Back' podcast with Pierre LeBrun and Ryan Rishaug, and the answer was an unequivocal no.
“Unfortunately, the Florida faithful will not be experiencing my presence," he said on the pod. "It’s different now, (we're in the) same division. It’s just a different vibe this year with us. We were so close."
The first few years Brady was in the league, the Senators were not a team that was even competing for playoff spot, let alone qualifying for the tournament.
Things were different this season though, as Ottawa wasn't mathematically eliminated until last week's 7-2 loss to Matthew's Panthers.
"Last year and the years before, we were out way earlier and just playing to play," Brady said.
There is a chance that the Sens’ star ends up visiting his brother in Fort Lauderdale at some point in the coming weeks and months, and why not?
From the beach and the food to the vibe and general beauty that South Florida has to offer, there are plenty of reasons to spend some down time in the sun.
He just won't be at the big hockey rink in Sunrise.
"I might be in Florida, but I’m definitely not going to any of their games," Brady said.
