From Las Olas coffee runs to deep-sea fishing, the Panthers center shares his favorite local haunts, hidden gems, and must-visit spots across his adopted South Florida home.

A younger member of the Florida Panthers was recently tapped to provide their personal guide to the region they have called home for the past several years.

Panthers center Anton Lundell initially moved to South Florida when he was just a teenager.

At first, Lundell bunked up with his new captain and countryman, Florida captain Sasha Barkov, but eventually Lundell moved out on his own and settled in Fort Lauderdale.

Now several years have passed and the 24-year-old Lundell is a well-established member of the community, to the point where back in January, he was named an official brand ambassador by Visit Lauderdale.

Lundell was asked by Travel Industry Today to give his personal guide to the greater Fort Lauderdale area, and you can probably guess some of the stops he listed for visitors to the area.

A trip to Las Olas was at the top of the list.

“Start with a coffee, browse boutiques and galleries, then let the day unfold,” is the advice from Lundell.

Next on the list was spending some time out on the water and doing some fishing, things that are near and dear to the young Finn’s heart.

In terms of restaurants, Lundell’s top recommendations were Noodles Panini along Las Olas and Takato on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Other South Florida activities listed by Lundell included visiting Everglades Holiday Park or planning a trip around Fort Lauderdale’s bigger events, like the annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show or the Winerfest Boat Parade.
