The NHL’s premier pest proves he doesn't need skates to stir the pot, delivering a sarcastic social media jab at his rival’s offseason strength training routine.

Brad Marchand may be off the ice, but he’s certainly on his game.

It was only a few days ago that we learned Marchand recently had surgery to clean up a lingering issue that may or may not impact his availability for training camp.

For that update, we may have to wait until the Florida Panthers convene in Fort Lauderdale in a few weeks.

In the meantime, however, Marchand is still doing his part in keeping us entertained while getting in the head of his opponents.

This time Marchand’s target was a familiar face on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

On Tuesday, the NHL’s official Instagram page posted photos of several players participating in their respective offseason workouts, both on and off the ice.

Among them was a picture of Maple Leafs star forward William Nylander working with some free weights and a balance ball.

Marchand apparently couldn’t resist the urge when he saw the photo and commented, “Don’t hurt yourself with all that weight willy.”

The two are certainly not strangers, often locking horns during Marchand’s time with both the Panthers and the Boston Bruins.

They’ll have to wait a while to discuss the Instagram trolling on the ice, as Florida and Toronto don’t meet during the regular season until Dec. 3 at Scotiabank Arena.

Hopefully it’s not the last we hear from Marchand between now and the start of camp, as its often good for a laugh when he pops up on social media.
