The Stanley Cup is back in North America after a fun trip through Europe.
On Tuesday, the Cup was on the west coast of Canada, all the way in British Colombia, where the historic trophy found its way back into the hands of Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart.
Reinhart, a native of Vancouver, made sure to make his second special day with the Stanley Cup count.
He stopped by the BC Children’s Hospital to share the Cup with the young patients there, and also brought it by the Ronald McDonald House BC as well.
At both stops, Reinhart posed for photos with the young hockey fans and even let them try on his Stanley Cup Championship ring.
“That was probably my favorite part of the day,” Reinhart said. “Just brightening up people’s days, seeing the children and the families…I think this ring was worn by a couple thousand kids today, and that was probably the highlight.”
Reinhart also took the Stanley Cup on a special boat ride courtesy of the Canadian Coast Guard through West Vancouver, where he grew up, to a public appearance at Dundarave Pier.
He wrapped the day up with a private party for family and friends that was right on the water and came with a beautiful view of the coast.
“This is where it all started,” Reinhart said of his hometown. “To have this opportunity again, there’s no better or more ideal spot to bring it back to than West Vancouver, where I grew up.”
