The Los Angeles Kings continue to add help up front as they have agreed to terms with Mats Zuccarello on a one-year deal.
The Los Angeles Kings have made a major splash in free agency by signing veteran winger Mats Zuccarello to one-year contract. The deal comes in at $1M AAV with bonus involved.
Zuccarello, 38, shockingly leaves the Minnesota Wild where he had spent the previous seven years of his career. In his final season with the Wild, the Norwegian winger was still very productive registering 15 goals and 39 assists for 54 points in 59 games played.
As the Kings enter their 'post-Kopitar' era, they add a veteran who is able to produce offensively, something they have lacked for years. In 963 career games, 'Zuc' has scored 232 goals to go with 512 assists for 744 total points. He is just the third undrafted NHLer to register over 700 career points/
Zuccarello joins former Minnesota Wild teammate Kevin Fiala and fellow former New York Ranger Artemi Panarin in a now revamped forward group in Los Angeles.
