A solid depth signing for LA.

The Los Angeles Kings announced a series of moves as NHL free agency opened up on Saturday. One of which was signing forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan to a one-year contract extension. The young player stays with the franchise that drafted him number 41 overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Only 23-years-old, Anderson-Dolan has room to grow as a player and now gets a small raise on his contract. Last season for the Kings, he scored seven goals and added in five assists. He is looked at as more of a depth piece for Los Angeles but it's important to keep guys like this to help improve the bottom lines of a team.

Over his five year career, Anderson-Dolan has scored 14 total goals and 10 assists so this is a good deal for the young player.

Before free agency, he wasn't tendered a qualifying offer but came to terms with the organization to keep him in the city of angels. LA is high on the kid and is hopeful that he can improve this coming season and then possibly earn a multi-year contract.

For the Kings, they have made a flurry of moves so far this offseason including this one. It's a critical summer for the organization and one that they hope will help lead them to a playoff series win this time around.
