Great start to the offseason for Los Angeles!

LA Kings News: Vladislav Garvrikov Agrees to Two-Year Extension

The Los Angeles Kings and defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov have agreed to a two-year contract extension. Los Angeles shed salary with a three-team trade with the intention to have enough money to re-sign Gavrikov. They got their man and now avoid him entering full free agency.

Within the new deal is a no movement clause and the contract has an average annual value of $5.875 million. It goes through the 2024-2025 season and has some massive signing bonuses within.

The team acquired Gavrikov before the trade deadline this season in the deal that saw longtime goaltender Jonathan Quick depart Los Angeles. The Kings quickly determined that they wanted him around for the foreseeable future.

Gavrikov is a physical defender that likes to wear down opponents as the game goes on. He fits perfectly into what the Kings are doing and how they are as a team on the ice. Over 72 games between time in Columbus and Los Angeles, Gavrikov registered 19 points and had a positive plus/minus of four.

Gavrikov will help head up the Kings blue line defense for the next few seasons as they look to try and get over the hump. Los Angeles has made the playoffs twice in a row, with both times being bounced in the first round. This is a great start to a crucial offseason for the Kings.
