After not making a selection in the first round of the NHL's Entry Draft, the Kings made five in the final six rounds on Thursday. The team had a balanced strategy in this year's draft, selecting 2 forwards, 2 defensemen, and a goalie. Kings Director of Scouting, Mark Yannetti, says that they had a "good haul" this year.
The Kings came into this year's offseason needing a new goaltender after shipping off Cal Petersen. While it is one of the team's biggest needs, experts are saying that the Kings are taking their time with bringing someone new in. According to the LA Times, it seems as if the Kings will wait until the trade deadline to find a different goalie.
