With the news of Connor McDavid signing a two-year deal worth $25 million, which carries an AAV of $12.5 million. It got me thinking, does this deal make Kirill Kaprizov's new deal with the Minnesota Wild look like an overpay?

Last season, albeit hurt. Kaprizov had 56 points in 41 games. Whereas McDavid had 100 points in 67 games. Over their careers, McDavid has scored 1,082 points in 712 games. Kaprizov has only managed 386 points in 319 games.

It's interesting to see McDavid take less to try and win now with the Edmonton Oilers and Kaprizov sign for essentially 20% of the Wild's cap.
